On Friday, December 31, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) has confirmed 11,334 new coronavirus infections. According to THL, the number includes new infections from the course of several days.

3,761 in Helsinki, 1,424 in Vantaa, 1,363 in Espoo, 262 in Tampere, 260 in Turku, 176 in Porvoo, 164 in Nurmijärvi, 145 in Tuusula, 136 in Jyväskylä, 134 in Järvenpää, 128 in Kirkkonummi, 127 in Lahti, 125 in Pori, 121 in Hyvinkää, 116 in Kotka, 91 in Kerava, 89 in Oulu, 85 in Kouvola, 84 in Joensuu, 83 in Vihti, 81 in Sipoo, 79 in Salo, 75 in Seinäjoki, 67 in Vaasa, 66 in Rovaniemi, 65 in Mäntsälä, 60 in Kuopio, 58 in Lohja, 56 in Rau,a 52 in Raasepori, 49 in Hämeenlinna, 46 in Kaarina, 45 in Ylöjärvi, 44 in Kauniainen, 40 in Kurikka, 39 in Keuruu, 38 in Riihimäki, 34 in Lappeenranta, 34 in Lempääl, 33 in Raisio, 32 in Pirkkala, 30 in Kokkola.
On Friday, 375 people were receiving hospital care for symptoms caused by the coronavirus. Of them, 52 were in intensive care. THL also reported 10 new deaths.
