Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will address MPs of the Finnish Parliament via a video link in the Plenary Hall of the Parliamentary Building on Friday, the Finnish Parliament notes in a statement. The event will begin at 13:00, and its estimated duration is 15 minutes. This is not a plenary session of Parliament, but a separate event in the Plenary Hall.
President Sauli Niinistö and Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier (who is visiting Finland on Friday) will follow the video speech by President Zelensky in Parliament. Ambassadors from several EU countries, among others, will also attend the event.
Speaker of Parliament Matti Vanhanen will give a short welcoming address which will be followed by a speech by President Zelensky. The event is in English.
The event is for invited guests only and the public gallery is not open to the public.
