Monday is the beginning of the long-awaited winter holiday week.

While many, in search of snow, are likely to travel up north for skiing, slouching and slugging, it’s going to snow heavily in the southern parts, too.

“We are going to get a real snowfall on Monday in southern Finland,” said meteorologist Iiris Viljamaa from the Finnish Meteorological Institute.

The route of the snowfall looks like this: Begins in the morning in southwestern Finland. Spreads across the southern coast in the afternoon. Likely to reach the inner parts, too, all the way up to the Pirkanmaa region.

The total estimate of snow piling on the ground is about 25 centimeters in the Uusimaa region and in the eastern parts of Kotka and Lappeenranta.
