Nobina bus drivers will stage a walkout from early morning on Thursday, September 21. The exact scale of the walkout is not yet known but it will affect services on bus routes operated by Nobina. The Helsinki Regional Transport Authority HSL is monitoring the situation.

The walkout affects only services operated by Nobina. Nobina operates about 50 bus lines, a significant number of HSL’s traffic.

The walkout was sparked due to a dispute between a chief shop steward and a chief of transportation. The discussion became heated and according to a source close to the incident “unnecessary force was used.”
