A Molotov cocktail was thrown at the door of a reception centre of the asylum seekers in the southeastern city of Kouvola, in the Keltakangas district, during the Thursday evening around 22:30.

The police is investigating the matter as attempted sabotage.

The police said, that the attack looks like an act of a solitary person.

“However we can’t yet rule out the possibility of the man having an assistant,” said Jukka Tylli, the detective inspector.

Meanwhile during the Thursday night, about 60 kilometres towards the centre Finland in the city of Lahti, a demonstration turned violent when about 40 protesters summoned and threw rocks and shot fireworks at the buses carrying asylum seekers to a reception centre. One of the protesters was waving the Finnish flag and wearing a robe of the Ku Klux Klan.
