‘The best pizzas of the area by far! A clean place with friendly service.’
‘The children are observed with special care.’
This is Paula’s internet review of the restaurant Midia at Laukaa, located in the central Finland near Jyväskylä, which is now empty and sealed with police tape after the owners of the pizzeria, a couple: a 50-year-old man and his 42-year-old wife and a woman, 46, who worked at the restaurant – all immigrants who have lived in Finland for a long time – were violently killed with a striking weapon on Sunday afternoon.
Just after 13:20 a man was seen outside sitting in the snow screaming:
“Call the police, call the ambulance.”
He was holding an arm in the air and was pounding his temple with the other.
His hands were covered in blood.
The police arrived at the scene and arrested the suspected man, 36, who turned out to be an employee at the restaurant who lives in Jyväskylä.
During Sunday evening, the locals arrived at the restaurant to lay mourning candles.
A woman, who was pushing a baby stroller, said that the couple were wonderful and warm people.
Another local said that the owners were easy to get acquainted with.
‘The food is delicious and the service is cheerful and friendly,’ said another internet review by Noora.
‘This is our favourite spot, the best pizza place in Laukaa.’
The ownercouple are survived by children from which two are minors.
