On Wednesday, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) has confirmed 4,264 new coronavirus infections in Finland in the past 24 hours.
Most new infections were confirmed in the cities below. (The list is partial.)
327 in Tampere, 237 in Lahti, 190 in Helsinki, 156 in Espoo, 144 in Vaasa, 143 in Lappeenranta, 137 in Turku, 136 in Vantaa, 120 in Rovaniemi, 105 in Kotka, 101 in Kouvola, 85 in Oulu, 84 in Kokkola, 77 in Kajaani, 71 in Jyväskylä, 60 in Seinäjoki, 58 in Tornio, 50 in Pietarsaari.
Currently, 718 people are receiving hospital care for symptoms caused by the coronavirus. That’s five fewer than on Monday. Of them, 34 are in intensive care, that’s one fewer than on Monday.
THL also reports 22 new deaths.
